Breast Implant Size Guide

Breast implant size is not only an aesthetic preference but also a clinical decision aligned with your body structure. In this guide we explain what CC (cubic centimetre) means, how it relates to cup size, and how to choose the right size step by step.

What is CC?

CC (cubic centimetre, cc) is the volume measurement of a breast implant. 1 cc is approximately equal to 1 gram. Modern silicone breast implants are produced from 100 cc up to 800 cc; the most commonly selected range is 200–450 cc.

CC value alone does not determine the "size" of the breast — your body structure, existing breast tissue, rib width and skin elasticity all influence the final appearance. The same 350 cc implant looks noticeably different across body types.

CC – Cup Size Conversion

The table below is an approximate conversion guide; individual results may vary by body structure. Your surgeon makes a personalised recommendation based on your anatomical measurements.

  • 150–200 cc: Generally 1 cup size increase (A→B). For natural look preference and slim body types.
  • 250–300 cc: 1–1.5 cup increase (A→B/C, B→C). Most preferred mid-range.
  • 350–400 cc: 1.5–2 cup increase (A→C/D, B→D). For those who want noticeable change.
  • 450–500 cc: 2–2.5 cup increase (B→D/DD). More suitable for athletic or wide bone structure.
  • 500+ cc: Significant augmentation; surgeon recommendation and skin elasticity assessment are critical.

Important note: Cup sizes are not standard across brands and countries; CC-based selection is always more objective.

Size Selection by Body Type

Slim / lean build

For patients with BMI 18–22 and limited natural breast tissue, the 200–350 cc range is generally appropriate. Larger implants may cause skin tension and visible rippling.

Athletic / medium build

For patients with BMI 22–26, average rib width and prominent muscle structure, the 300–450 cc range typically delivers good results. Anatomical (teardrop) implants yield a more natural outcome.

Wide shoulders / athletic wide build

For patients with BMI 26+ and wide rib/shoulder structure, the 400–550 cc range may be suitable. Surgeon guidance is critical for a proportionate result.

These recommendations are general; individual anatomical assessment and 3D simulation (if available) provide the most accurate selection.

400 cc Breast Implant: What to Expect?

400 cc is one of the most searched implant sizes in Turkey. For most women, this size means a transition from A/B cup to C/D cup and provides a noticeable yet not exaggerated volume increase.

A 400 cc implant typically:

  • Adds approximately 400 grams of weight (per breast)
  • Corresponds to 2–2.5 cup size increase (depending on body type)
  • Is most appropriate for athletic and medium body types
  • Can be chosen in anatomical or round model

When deciding on 400 cc, your surgeon evaluates your breast base width, skin elasticity and existing breast tissue. 400 cc may look too large for some body types and insufficient for others.

Considerations in Size Selection

  • Your lifestyle: If you do sports, run or have an active lifestyle, medium-large implants may cause physical discomfort.
  • Your existing breast tissue: In those with limited tissue, large implants may create visible rippling; submuscular or dual-plane placement may be preferred.
  • Skin elasticity: Large implants may stretch the skin and cause sagging in the long term.
  • Anatomical fit: An implant wider than your breast base does not look natural.
  • Long-term change: Body weight, pregnancy and ageing change breast appearance over time; factor this in.

During the consultation you can try different sizes with a fitting bra and, in clinics that offer 3D simulation, preview the outcome.
